Advance Practitioner - Assessment Team
Location: Newcastle City Council
Pay Rate: £34.45 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Full-Time
The Role
Newcastle City Council is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Advance Practitioner to join our fast-paced Assessment Team. This is a pivotal role designed for a social work professional who excels in high-intensity environments and is committed to delivering the best outcomes for children and families.
As an Advance Practitioner, you will act as a lead professional, handling complex cases while providing expert guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Practice: Manage a caseload of complex assessments, ensuring high-quality interventions and robust safety planning.
- Mentorship: Support the Team Manager in developing the skills of Social Workers, providing "on-the-job" coaching and sharing best practices.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all assessments are completed within statutory timescales and meet the high standards expected by Newcastle City Council.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Lead and participate in multi-agency meetings, ensuring clear communication between police, health, and education partners.
- Decision Making: Provide expert clinical advice to help navigate difficult safeguarding decisions.
What You'll Need
- Experience: Substantial post-qualifying experience within an Assessment or Front-Door setting.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead by example and support the professional development of peers.
- Qualifications: A degree in Social Work and a current Social Work England registration.
- Efficiency: Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports under tight deadlines.
