HGV Technician

HGV Technician Location: London Hours: 08:00-16:30 (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (DOE) + overtime at 1.5x basic rate   An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a leading commercial vehicle service centre in the London area. This permanent role offers excellent earning potential, structured working hours, and access to continuous training and development within a modern, well-equipped workshop.   Key Responsibilities   Completing all mechanical and electrical repairs following diagnostic reports Carrying out component replacements, system repairs, and correction of identified faults Performing routine servicing, maintenance inspections, and safety checks Ensuring all repair work aligns with manufacturer guidelines and standards Following detailed job instructions provided by senior or diagnostic technicians Completing job cards, repair documentation, and digital service records Working efficiently to support workshop productivity and turnaround times Assisting with complex repairs when required and supporting junior technicians Maintaining high standards of workshop safety and vehicle compliance   Skills & Experience Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI). Proven experience working on HGVs or trailers in a dealership or fleet environment. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with attention to quality and safety. Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential). Professional attitude, teamwork, and commitment to high service standards.
