Qualified Gardener / Horticulturist - Devon (EX15)
A growing landscaping company based in Devon is looking for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Gardener / Horticulturist to join their professional team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-end residential and commercial gardens, applying your horticultural skills across a wide range of tasks, from garden design and planting to maintenance and specialist landscaping work.
You will be part of a skilled and supportive team, working directly with clients to maintain, enhance, and transform beautiful gardens across the Devon region. Your expertise and attention to detail will play a key role in delivering exceptional horticultural services.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Location: Devon (EX15)
Hours: 7:30am - 5:00pm, 5 days a week (9 hours/day)
Holidays: 30 days per year
Other Benefits: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Pension
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-end gardening and general maintenance across client sites
Implement garden designs and carry out soft landscaping projects
Perform shrub and tree care, including standard arboriculture tasks
Operate ride-on mowers, trailers, and other horticultural machinery safely
Install, maintain, and manage irrigation systems
Read and work from garden drawings and plans (preferred)
Work directly with clients, providing excellent service and communication
Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and to a high standard
✅ Requirements
NVQ or RHS Level 2 in Horticulture (minimum)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in high-end gardening and landscaping
PA1 & PA6 certification
Strong knowledge of plant identification, shrubs, and tree care
Experience with soft landscaping and garden design implementation
Ability to operate machinery including ride-on mowers and trailers
Full UK driving licence
Strong communication skills and confident working in a client-facing role
Local to Devon
Experience reading and following garden drawings/plans is preferred
