Trainee Quality Inspector

Location: UK (On-site) East Sussex
Full-Time | Permanent

The Role:

• Inspect components against engineering drawings and specifications

• Learn to carry out detailed inspections using complex datum points

• Use a range of handheld metrology tools and advanced equipment

• Measure first-off components from CNC machines

• Record inspection results accurately within company systems

• Raise non-conformances (PIFs) and communicate issues to team leaders

• Support testing and validation of components and assemblies

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified to Degree/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.

• Ability to read engineering drawings (basic to intermediate level)

• Some experience working with tight tolerances

• Experience using handheld inspection tools (e.g. verniers, gauges)

• Able to follow documented instructions and processes

• Good attention to detail

• Strong communication skills

• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)

• Willingness to learn and develop within a technical environment

• ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or similar (or working towards)

Desirable:

• Experience in a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment

• Exposure to quality tools (SPC, AQL, calibration, etc.)

• Experience using CMM or Faro Arm equipment

• Knowledge of welding or fabrication processes
