About the Role As an Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum availability and reliability of production equipment across a modern manufacturing facility. Working within a highly automated environment, you will support operational performance through reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and equipment reliability projects. Key Responsibilities Ensure maximum equipment reliability through: Rapid response to breakdowns Effective fault diagnosis and repairs Preventative maintenance strategies Maintain compliance with: Health & Safety procedures Environmental & Quality standards LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) Permit to Work systems Statutory requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies including: TPM RCM RCA PDCA 5S Lead and contribute to reliability and efficiency improvement projects Collaborate closely with Operations teams to support a high-performance manufacturing culture Maintain accurate maintenance records within CMMS/SAP systems Support engineering and capital investment projects to ensure delivery within: Budget Quality standards Project timelines Experience & Key Attributes Essential Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline Strong multi-skilled engineering background with an electrical bias Experience within a manufacturing or production environment Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills Good IT literacy including MS Office and maintenance systems Desirable Experience within FMCG, Food, Beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environments Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Additional Skills Ability to manage contractors and issue permits safely Strong understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to support and train colleagues Looking for somewhere that takes development seriously, then click apply, and happy to have a confidential call
