About the role

Amnis Education are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist residential childcare provider supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, exploitation, learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioural challenges. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic residential home supporting young people aged 11–17 within a highly specialist and child-centred environment. 3S Adolescent Care’s senior leadership team bring over 60 years of combined experience working with some of the UK’s most traumatised children, supported by a multi-disciplinary team including Therapeutic Care Practitioners, clinicians, Quality Assurance professionals, and Independent Visitors. The Role As Registered Manager, you will lead the home with professionalism, compassion, and strong operational oversight. You will be responsible for safeguarding, compliance, team leadership, home performance, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for children and young people. You will work closely with Local Authorities, clinicians, families, and internal stakeholders to ensure the home consistently operates to a high standard in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted expectations. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the residential home * Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people * Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times * Lead, motivate, supervise, and develop the staff team * Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards * Manage Ofsted inspections and maintain high service standards * Oversee staffing, rotas, budgets, and resource allocation effectively * Promote therapeutic and trauma-informed childcare practices * Develop strong partnerships with Local Authorities and external professionals * Monitor placement plans and ensure children’s individual needs are met * Maintain accurate records, reports, and quality assurance processes * Support positive outcomes, education engagement, and behaviour management * Drive a culture of accountability, professionalism, and high standards * Promote a “High Warmth / High Control” approach within the home * Ensure the home operates in line with the organisation’s ethos and values Requirements Essential: * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent) * Full UK Driving Licence * Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children with BESD within residential childcare * Minimum 1 year’s experience managing or supervising staff within a care setting * Experience managing Ofsted inspections to a minimum ‘Good’ rating * Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation, and Quality Standards * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills * Ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational performance effectively * Flexible and committed approach to supporting the home and staff team Desirable: * Experience within youth justice or probation settings * Therapeutic or trauma-informed care experience * Counselling or team-building skills What’s on Offer * Supportive senior leadership structure * Opportunity to lead a specialist therapeutic service * Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation At Amnis Education, safeguarding and safer recruitment are at the heart of everything we do.
