About the role

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £20.13 - £22.51 Temporary until 31st March 2028. Post 1 - Whitecraig Community Hub Working between Monday - Friday, plus weekends. Days of working are negotiable, starting and finishing times are flexible, an flexi time is applicable. This is a new and exciting fixed term opportunity for a 23 hour Specialist Youth Worker to work on a peripatetic basis across the West of the County, supporting teams in Musselburgh, Fa’side and Preston, Seton & Gosford. This specifically funded project will focus on building positive relationships with young people and key partners to help address anti social behaviour across the area such as Education, Police Scotland and ASB teams. The post will be based at Whitecraig Village Hub, Musselburgh, with regular outreach across the designated localities The post will require regular evening and weekend working. Post 2 - Wallyford Learning Campus, Rosehill High School Monday - Friday Days of working are negotiable, starting and finishing times are flexible, an flexi time is applicable. This is a new and exciting fixed term opportunity for a 23 hour Specialist Youth Worker to develop and deliver youth work within Rosehill High School and its associated catchment primary schools. The post will focus on building positive relationships with young people and supporting effective transitions by strengthening links between school and the wider community. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with schools and other agencies are essential to the role. The post will require regular evening work. To start asap. Make contact and develop constructive relationships with young people with a view to encouraging them to participate actively in a range of activities in a club or group setting. This experience will be augmented with in-house training in Child Protection, First Aid etc. Those carrying out a predominantly Outreach role will need hands on experience working with young people within a community setting This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
