BRC are recruiting on behalf of a well-established children's residential care provider in the Vale of Glamorgan for Registered Children's Home Workers, with both Days and Waking Nights positions available on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people working within a registered children's home
About the Roles
Days
Supporting young people to build positive relationships with family, external agencies and the wider community
Key-working responsibilities using a child-centred, kind and empathic approach
Recording and evidencing key work activity in line with regulatory requirements
Supporting the management team with risk, safeguarding and compliance Waking Nights
Awake throughout the night shift, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people and responding to their needs
Following individual care and support plans, including any nighttime observation requirements
Safe storage/administration of medication in line with policy and legislation
Completing health and safety checks and handover notes, and supporting a smooth handover between shifts Both roles share the same underlying purpose: helping create a warm, welcoming, non-judgemental home where young people feel empowered and can thrive.
What's on Offer
Permanent position (Days: full-time hours; Waking Nights: 35 hours per week)
Competitive salary Days up to £31,500, Waking Nights up to £27,500 per annum depending on experience and qualification

What We're Looking For
Current registration (or willingness to register) with Social Care Wales
QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), or working towards
Experience working within safeguarding frameworks and understanding the impact of trauma on children and young people
A full UK driving licence
Applicants must be aged 22+ (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
