Our Client, a Greater Manchester council, is seeking a Children's Social Worker to join their Front Door Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Act as a first point of professional response for contacts and referrals concerning children and families
  • Undertake high-quality assessments in line with statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and 2004
  • Make timely, proportionate decisions to safeguard children and promote their wellbeing
  • Work closely with MASH partners, early help services, and other agencies to triage and progress cases
  • Identify levels of risk and need, initiating appropriate interventions or signposting to services
  • Complete clear, analytical, and timely case recording and documentation
  • Participate in strategy discussions, safeguarding enquiries, and decision-making forums
  • Engage confidently with children, families, and professionals in often complex and high-pressure situations
  • Contribute to a supportive team culture and reflective practice

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience

  • Monitor workloads, allocate cases effectively, and maintain clear systems to ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Use data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement, identifying areas for development and embedding best practice within the service.
  • Promote a culture of reflective practice, professional curiosity, and child-centred decision-making across the team.
