Major Construction Project
Are you an ambitious and driven Project Manager looking to take the next step in your construction career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a major construction project in Plymouth, supporting an experienced Project Director on the delivery of a large-scale scheme.
This role is ideally suited to a Project Manager who is looking to gain exposure to complex projects, develop their leadership skills, and play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile construction development.
The Opportunity
As a Project Manager, you will support the Project Director with the coordination and delivery of key work packages across a major construction scheme. You will be involved in package management, programme coordination, subcontractor management, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering significant projects within the South West.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Project Director in the successful delivery of a major construction project
* Manage and coordinate subcontractor packages from procurement through to completion
* Monitor project progress against programme and budgets
* Support site teams with planning, logistics, and operational coordination
* Ensure health & safety standards are maintained across all work packages
* Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Attend and contribute to project meetings and reporting
* Identify and resolve project challenges proactively
* Ensure quality standards and project specifications are achieved
Requirements
* Previous experience within a Project Manager on a major project Circ. £20m + is essential
* Background within tier one main contracting or large-scale construction projects
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple packages and coordinate stakeholders
* Understanding of construction programmes, delivery, and site operations
* Ambitious, career-driven, and eager to progress within a leading contractor
