About the role
MIG Cell/Team leader DaventryMonday - Friday 7am - 5:15pm (1pm finish on a Friday)£44,460 Our market leading client in the metals industry is looking for a MIG cell leader to join their successful team in Daventry. You will oversee a small team of around 6-8 welders and must have relevant and up to date welding experience. Key Duties:
- Task leading a team of welders. - Lead and supervise your team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure optimal performance and productivity. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the cell.
- Monitor productivity and quality within the team to ensure targets are met and exceeded - Plan and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and customer deadlines. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient utilization of resources.
- Evaluate and support process/fixture changes to achieve target times
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards of quality and integrity. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any quality issues or non-conformities.
- Highlight training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensure all team members are proficient in their respective role, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Expedite kit parts to achieve shop schedule requirements - Ensure equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and serviced. Report any equipment issues or malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- MIG Welding and associated processes - Enforce safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct daily safety meetings (KPI boards), inspections, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews and appraisals for your team members, providing constructive feedback, recognition, and development opportunities. Set performance goals and objectives in alignment with departmental and organizational targets.
- Identify training needs and career development opportunities for team members to support their professional growth and advancement
- Competent and confident in reading engineering drawings
- Possess relevant MIG WELDING experience of working in a similar manufacturing industry.
- Self-motivated, Methodical and precise.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Good communicator
