Product Design Engineer Product Specialist - Mechanical CAD (Contract) Darlington (Hybrid: 3 days Onsite / 2 days Remote) Initial 6 Months (Expected to extend long-term through Aug 2026 and beyond) Join a leading industrial organization at their Darlington site as a Product Design Engineer. This is a senior-level, product-focused contract role where you will apply specialised knowledge of engineering principles and design practices to lead complex mechanical design and development assignments. You will be responsible for creating optimized design concepts and mechanical design specifications for products, parts, components, and systems, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for performance, reliability, durability, and serviceability. Key Responsibilities: Lead design and development for complex engineering assignments. Apply specialized knowledge to create optimized design concepts and specifications. Lead cross-functional design integration and decision-making (Critical Design Decisions, Design Reviews). Provide technical guidance and support within project teams. Must-Have Competencies: Proven Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience. Strong ownership of Engine system or component development. Expert 3D CAD Modelling and design skills (Creo experience is mandatory). Mandatory experience with Engine component or system analysis.Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
