About the Learners You will be supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning in mainstream education and require a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment to thrive. Learners may present with: ✅ Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ✅ Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ✅ ADHD and attention difficulties ✅ Anxiety and low confidence ✅ Emotional regulation difficulties ✅ Challenging behaviour ✅ Trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) ✅ Engagement and attendance barriers ✅ Additional Learning Needs (ALN) These young people benefit from positive role models who can build trusting relationships and help them develop both academically and personally. Your Responsibilities As a PRU Support Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support Support pupils to engage positively with learning activities Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing Help learners develop social skills and confidence Assist with classroom-based learning and interventions Encourage independence and resilience Support pupils during breaktimes and enrichment activities Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to meet individual learner needs ⭐ What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from individuals who are: ✅ Patient, empathetic, and understanding ✅ Positive and proactive in their approach ✅ Confident managing challenging behaviour ✅ Strong communicators and relationship builders ✅ Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people ✅ Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure Experience in any of the following is advantageous: ‍ Education ‍‍ Youth Work Sports Coaching Residential Care Support Work Mentoring Police, Military or Security Backgrounds Why Choose Teaching Personnel?
