More about the role:For more than 70 years, our client has been in a strong partnership with the UK military. They have accomplished numerous milestones in defence engineering and have provided essential defence capabilities to meet the requirements of the armed forces across land, sea, and air.
This job is at our client's site in Bolton facility, one of the North West's leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years. The facility offers showers and bike racks and is near the motorway, with a petrol station outside. xwzovoh Amenities like an onsite canteen.

This is a hands on, bench based role focused on electrical fault finding, bespoke cable repair, and test equipment maintenance ideal for someone with strong wiring, diagnostic, and drawing interpretation skills who enjoys precision work..What youll be doing
- Fault find and repair bespoke cable assemblies to technical drawings
- Carry out surface mount repairs on CCAs
- Maintain and repair electrical & electronic test equipment to component level
- Conduct PAT testing across the manufacturing site
- Perform safety systems testing in line with documented procedures
- Support production by ensuring STTE availability and reliability
- Work to strict tool control, FOD, ESD, and quality standards
What were looking forQualifications (Essential Pathways)You must hold one of the following:
- Advanced / Level 3 Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Apprenticeship
- Level 3 academic qualification (ONC / Diploma or equivalent)
- Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ)
(NVQ not required if a Level 3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved)
Desirable (not essential)
- IPC 620 certification / Dynamic Cabling training
- Experience in electrical wiring, cable assembly or test & measurement
- Background in aerospace, defence, or other regulated manufacturing environments
