We are currently seeking experienced ENPs, ECPs, UCPs, and Nurse Practitioners to join our nationwide agency workforce to support UTCs and MIUs facing increasing patient demand.
Role Summary
As an ENP / ECP / UCP / Nurse Practitioner working through ProMedical, you will provide autonomous, high-quality clinical assessment and treatment of patients presenting with undifferentiated minor illness and injury within urgent care settings.
You will be expected to independently assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and discharge patients within your scope of practice, ensuring safe and effective patient flow through UTC and MIU services.
Clinical Settings
* Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs)
* Minor Injury Units (MIUs)
* Walk-in Centres
* Urgent Care Centres (UCCs)
* GP Out-of-Hours (OOH) services
* Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) where applicable
Essential Requirements
* Registered Nurse (NMC) or Paramedic (HCPC)
* Qualification in Minor Injury / Minor Illness / Emergency Care (ENP, ECP, UCP or equivalent)
* Independent Prescribing qualification (V300) where applicable
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in urgent care, emergency care, or primary care front-door services
* Competence in autonomous clinical decision-making
* Experience managing undifferentiated presentations
* Ability to work independently in fast-paced clinical environments
* Up-to-date clinical competencies relevant to urgent care settings
Desirable Requirements
* MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or working towards)
* Experience in UTC, ED, or OOH services
* Suturing, plastering, and minor injury procedures competency sign-off
* Paediatric urgent care experience
* Experience working within NHS pathways and referral systems
* Familiarity with NHS 111 streaming models
Shift Patterns
* Flexible day, evening, night, and weekend shifts
* Ad hoc shifts, block bookings, and long-term placements available
* Minimum shift lengths typically 6–12 hours depending on service
