Industrial Placement Officer – City of Wolverhampton College ✨
Location: Wellington Road Campus
Contract: Part‑time (18.5 hours per week)

City of Wolverhampton College is seeking a proactive and organised Industrial Placement Officer to support Health & Social Care learners in securing high‑quality work experience placements. This role is essential in helping students gain the practical experience they need to succeed in their chosen career pathways.
Working closely with curriculum teams, placement providers, and learners, you will play a key role in coordinating placements, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all activity meets awarding‑body requirements.
About the Role
As an Industrial Placement Officer, you will:
• Work with curriculum managers and tutors to identify placement needs across Health & Social Care programmes
• Source, allocate, and maintain a strong network of suitable placement providers
• Ensure all placements meet awarding‑body and college quality standards
• Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records on placement activity and maintain the placement database
• Build and sustain positive relationships with external partners and employers
• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to students during their placements
• Monitor learner progress, address concerns, and record feedback on ProMonitor
• Support the wider curriculum team with placement reviews, documentation, and reporting
• Uphold college policies relating to Health & Safety, Equality, and Quality
What We’re Looking For
• A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
• Experience working within a Health & Social Care environment
• Strong administrative, organisational, and time‑management skills
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong customer‑service approach and confidence liaising with external partners
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
• Links with a range of Health & Social Care settings
• Knowledge of Health & Safety practices
• Presentation skills and confidence delivering group support
