The Role
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing credit control across a diverse portfolio of accounts including national supermarkets, wholesale traders and export customers. You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial controls while maintaining excellent relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage credit control for a range of customer accounts including national supermarkets, wholesale traders and export clients using a variety of collection and risk management techniques.
- Conduct credit reviews and ongoing risk management of customer accounts.
- Handle discrepancy management and resolve customer queries efficiently.
- Manage order suspension and release in line with credit policies.
- Liaise with multiple UK sites to provide dedicated credit control support.
- Prepare for and attend regular debt and risk review meetings.
- Ensure all requests received through the credit control inbox are actioned promptly.
- Produce weekly and bi-weekly reporting on credit control performance and account status.
About You
- Excellent communication skills with a strong team ethic.
- Proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience working within a customer-focused environment.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Experience driving continuous improvements and supporting change initiatives.
- Experience working with multiple ERP systems (Navision and SAP preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong internal and external customer focus.
