About the role

The Manufacturing Technician will be engaged in the assembly of Azenta’ Sample Stores, BioStores and related sub-assemblies. Candidates will require a general level of engineering with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Responsibilities: ·Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing work, rework and testing and troubleshooting, related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final system assemblies. ·Customer site installations focusing on the mechanical assembly of the system ·Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. ·Assist in developing methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and/or diagrams to control or modify the manufacturing process. ·Performing Continuous Improvement activities to improve productivity. ·May prepare technical reports summarising findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. ·May provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel, and may lead or supervise activities within a team lead function ·Take on ad-hoc functions required by the team. Technical Skills and Experience Experience with angle grinders, drilling, tapping and power tools in general. Good team work skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience using OHG Cranes, MEWPS and FLTs Experience building medium to large scale assemblies from Engineering specification Manual labour or lifting, manual handling training will be provided shortly after start date. Basic IT skills – Particularly Excel for recording packing/crating data Advantageous Experience in fabrication, sheet metal work etc. Team leadership – a strong character with decision making abilities (I am currently discussing a possible team leader role for the pre-install factory in the future) Valid license for FLTs, OHG cranes, MEWPs (we can provide these subject to passing probation) Your Rewards You will be remunerated competitively depending on your experience and skills. * 24 working days paid holiday in each holiday year, plus 8 public holidays * Company Pension contribution * Global Bonus Scheme (VCP) * Bupa Healthcare plan * Share purchase options
