MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to support a range of construction projects. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions, from initial design through to project completion, ensuring full compliance with client requirements and relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities * Carry out mechanical engineering design calculations and produce drawings and specifications * Assist in the preparation of tender documentation * Design, programme, and supervise projects with minimal supervision * Oversee heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) installations * Supervise on-site works and manage contractors * Monitor and direct Clerks of Works and Inspectors as required * Liaise effectively with client representatives and stakeholders * Ensure adherence to contract documentation and quality standards * Prepare cost estimates from pre-contract stage through to final account agreement * Comply with all organisational procedures, financial regulations, and standing orders * Represent the organisation professionally, maintaining its reputation and profile Candidate Profile * Strong experience across all areas of mechanical engineering design * Proficient in IT systems and AutoCAD (essential) * Ability to manage projects independently and meet tight deadlines * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic Qualifications & Experience * HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering * Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience * Proven track record in construction management * Experience managing contracts and contractors * Demonstrated high-level technical expertise within the construction industry Additional Requirements * Full UK driving licence (essential)
