My client is a highly successful algorithmic trading business with global reach and considerable market share of trading activity in the markets they operate.They succeed in the market with cutting-edge technology and the latest computational techniques as well as deep understanding of market dynamics and the assets they trade.The role sits in an engineering team that team designs, develops, and maintains infrastructure for the organisation using a combination of open-source software, and custom code. This role is ideal for someone who has strong core development skills, enjoys working with multiple technologies and deep customisation.Responsibilities include:Improving platforms for smooth interaction and utilization of infrastructure by other teams through design, development, and ongoing enhancements.Establishing guidelines to reduce redundancy company-wide and fostering collaboration with fellow technologists to encourage reuse.Streamlining manual tasks by automating intricate processes across multiple systems.Providing guidance and support to fellow team members in maintaining and servicing developed systems.Assessing the suitability of modern technology and development methodologies for integration into the company’s operations.Ensuring the upkeep of existing infrastructure and tools as needed.Participating in discussions related to third-party systems from a commercial perspective.Essential Attributes:Proficiency in programming languages particularly Go but also Python or CDemonstratable experience and passion for automationStrong experience using Linux (RedHat / Debian), TCP/IP networking, and storage technologies.Excellent experience using git, IDEs, CI/CD, and test-driven development techniques.Bonus skills:Docker or similar technologyGrafana, Prometheus or similarTrading systems experienceLogging tools such as Logstash and Elasticsearch.Puppet, Ansible, Terraform or similarInfrastructure experience, VMware, Networking, Storage and hardwareThis is an environment of a 2010’s Google or a well-funded FinTech startup where tech is number one with huge budget allocated towards this.
