Principal / Associate Transport Planner

Principal / Associate Transport Planner - Oxford I'm working with a fast-growing, award-winning consultancy that's looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Transport Planner to join their expanding Oxford team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport planning professional looking to step into a more senior position with genuine influence over project delivery, client relationships, team development and business growth. The role would suit someone who enjoys a mix of technical delivery, project leadership and client-facing responsibility, while still remaining involved in a varied portfolio of development-led projects. The Role You'll take a leading role across a range of transport planning projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and internal teams to deliver high-quality advice and commercially aware solutions. Projects span residential, mixed-use, commercial, logistics, education and regeneration schemes, offering varied and technically interesting work. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to completion Prepare and review: Transport Assessments Transport Statements Travel Plans Access Appraisals Technical Notes Oversee junction capacity modelling and transport analysis using: TRICS Junctions (ARCADY / PICADY) Other transport modelling software Manage client relationships and attend stakeholder meetings Liaise with Local Highway Authorities and multidisciplinary design teams Support and mentor junior team members Assist with project financial management and fee proposals Contribute to business development and work-winning activities Skills & Experience Required Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or related discipline Strong experience within development-led transport planning Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports Knowledge of relevant planning policy and transport guidance Experience with: AutoCAD TRICS Junctions (ARCADY / PICADY) Transport modelling tools Commercial awareness and leadership capability Chartered status or working toward chartership is beneficial Benefits Competitive salary and bonus structure Private healthcare and pension scheme Flexible hybrid working arrangements Clear progression opportunities within a growing consultancy Professional membership support and CPD Generous annual leave package Social events and collaborative team culture This is a fantastic opportunity to join a consultancy with a strong pipeline of work, genuine growth plans, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the continued development of the transport planning team.
