About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure the smooth, efficient flow of goods. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising operatives, managing workflows, and ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with company policies and KPIs.

You will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence by coordinating labour, ensuring delivery processes run effectively, and driving performance improvements across the warehouse function. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will support quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the receipt and accurate recording of all deliveries and intersite stock movements
  • Plan and monitor labour resources, including temporary and permanent staff
  • Ensure efficient workflow planning to meet operational targets and KPIs
  • Allocate tasks effectively to ensure all operatives remain productive
  • Carry out quality checks on operatives' work and address any issues promptly
  • Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety regulations, proactively reducing operational risk
  • Prepare and organise warehouse areas to support incoming deliveries and minimise handling
  • Ensure accurate and timely stock transactions and correct storage of products
  • Monitor staff performance, productivity, attendance, and conduct return-to-work interviews
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and identify training and development needs
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the warehouse
  • Ensure equipment and plant are maintained in line with company policies
  • Support internal audits and ensure quality issues are resolved efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with departments including Manufacturing, Distribution, Quality, and Health & Safety
  • Undertake relevant training, including IOSH Managing Safely
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested by the Department Manager

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working within a production or warehouse environment
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety principles and commitment to compliance
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (desirable)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Ability to monitor performance and drive improvements in productivity and quality
  • Experience in supervising or coordinating teams (preferred)
  • A proactive approach to identifying training needs and supporting team development
