Electronics Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Operator / Electronics Technician to join one of our clients , a specialist electronics manufacturing company based in Wallington (SM6). This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on soldering experience, particularly surface mount (SMD/SMT) and through-hole PCB work, who are comfortable working in a small, skilled workshop environment. Location: Wallington, Surrey, SM6 Pay Rate: - £13 per hour (holiday accrued) - £14.50 per hour (holiday paid) Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 5:00 PM --- Key Responsibilities: - Hand soldering of surface mount (SMD/SMT) and through-hole components - Assembly and repair of printed circuit boards (PCBs / PCBAs) - Rework and de-soldering of SMD and through-hole components - Surface mount assembly including pasting and hand placement - Cable assembly using hand crimping tools and wire cutting machines - Electro-mechanical assembly and potting of finished goods - Manual and chemical spot cleaning of PCBs - Inspection of assembled products using AOI comparator, magnifier, or visual inspection - Operation of assembly, cleaning, and testing equipment (training provided) --- Requirements: - Proven experience in electronics assembly or soldering roles - Strong hand soldering skills (SMD, SMT, through-hole PCBs) - Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical documentation - Good understanding of electronic components and assembly tools - Good eyesight and manual dexterity - Basic computer skills (Windows, PDFs, Word documents) - Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused approach to work About the Company: It is a friendly electronics manufacturer with a hands-on team.
