We are a highly successful, fast‑growing manufacturer of premium windows and doors, supplying customers across the trade, commercial, and retail sectors. To support continued growth, we are looking for a Transport Manager to take ownership of our distribution operation and ensure our products reach customers safely, on time, and in perfect condition.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Transport Manager or a capable Transport Supervisor looking for the next step. You will oversee all day‑to‑day transport activities, manage a busy fleet, and lead a team of drivers delivering high‑value, fragile products.
Experience with glass, glazing, or window/door transportation will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries
*
Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections, compliance, and vehicle scheduling
*
Help to support, and develop a small team of drivers
*
Ensure safe handling and transportation of glass, glazing units, and window/door products
*
Optimise routes, vehicle utilisation, and delivery performance
*
Maintain full compliance with transport legislation and company standards
*
Work closely with production and customer service teams to maintain high service levels
*
Monitor KPIs, costs, and operational performance to drive continuous improvement
About You

Essential Skills & Experience
*
Experience as a Transport Manager or Transport Supervisor ready to step up
*
Strong understanding of transport operations, fleet management, and compliance
*
Experience in glass, glazing, fenestration, or building products (highly desirable)
*
The transport manager or supervisor will have knowledge of transporting fragile or oversized goods
*
Strong leadership and communication skills
*
Ability to problem‑solve and make decisions under pressure
*
CPC qualification is beneficial but not essential
