History Teacher - Secondary School

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Blackburn to recruit a dedicated History Teacher for a full‑time role starting in September. The position is initially offered until at least the Christmas break, with the strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate History specialist to join a supportive department and make a meaningful impact on pupils' learning and progress.
The Role
Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons
Assess, track, and support pupil progress
Contribute positively to the history department and wider school life
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom practice
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
Has experience teaching secondary History in the UK curriculum
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom management
Is reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to inclusive education
ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply
