About the role

We’re working with a well-established and growing engineering business operating in a precision manufacturing environment. They supply high-quality, machined components to a range of industries and are looking to add a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to their team. This is a role that sits between engineering and production, with a strong focus on CNC machining, process improvement, and offline programming. The position offers flexibility around how the role is structured, with the potential for some remote working depending on experience. The key is being able to take ownership of programming and manufacturing processes, while working closely with the shop floor team to ensure smooth delivery. The role You’ll be responsible for developing and optimising CNC machining processes, working from engineering drawings and 3D models to create efficient and reliable programs. Working closely with operators and production teams, you’ll help ensure that parts are manufactured right first time, while also identifying opportunities to improve cycle times, tooling, and overall efficiency. This is not a pure desk-based role. While offline programming can be done remotely, there will be a need to stay connected to what’s happening on the shop floor and support prove-out and continuous improvement activity. What you’ll be doing Creating CNC programs using CAM software Interpreting engineering drawings and 3D CAD models Developing tooling strategies and optimising machining processes Supporting new product introduction and prototype work Working with operators to prove out and refine programs Identifying opportunities to improve cycle times and reduce cost Supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing What we’re looking for Experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, or offline programming Strong understanding of machining processes (milling and/or turning) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience with CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) A practical mindset with an interest in how things are made Comfortable working between engineering and production teams What’s on offer A varied role with a mix of programming, engineering, and improvement work The opportunity to work in a modern, well-invested manufacturing environment A business that values practical engineering and continuous improvement
