General Foreman

We are recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major AMP8 wastewater scheme in Liverpool. The initial project is a technically challenging Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) scheme involving significant reinforced concrete and associated civil engineering works. We are particularly interested in speaking with Foremen who have a strong background across general civils, drainage, reinforced concrete and earthworks, ideally with previous experience within the water sector. This is a particularly exciting time to join a wider Group experiencing significant growth across multiple areas of infrastructure and construction. Key Responsibilities * Manage and coordinate multiple gangs and day-to-day site activities. * Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. * Coordinate manpower, materials, plant and equipment across site. * Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information for site teams. * Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections. * Ensure RAMS are communicated, understood and fully implemented. * Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance. * Record and report near misses, incidents and changing site conditions. * Work closely with the wider project team to resolve issues and maintain progress. * Maintain accurate site records, including submission of timesheets. * Support and develop junior members of the site team. The Successful Candidate * Previous General Foreman / Foreman experience within civil engineering. * Strong experience across general civils, drainage, RC and earthworks. * Water/wastewater experience would be highly advantageous. * Experience within highways and infrastructure environments will also be considered. * Confident managing multiple gangs and coordinating site resources. * Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and construction methodology. * A strong HSQE mindset and track record of maintaining high site standards. * Good problem-solving, communication and organisational skills. * Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers, Engineers and the wider project team.
