Role: Control Systems Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Core onsite days: Tuesday & Thursday (flexible)


Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join a pioneering engineering team developing advanced electric vehicle technologies. Working at the intersection of high-performance automotive engineering and electrification, you will play a key role in designing and implementing control strategies that enable next-generation vehicle platforms.


This role will involve model-based development, system simulation and control algorithm design, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions within a fast-paced engineering environment.


The position is hybrid with 2–3 days onsite per week in Oxfordshire, typically including Tuesday and Thursday, although there is flexibility depending on project requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control algorithms using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Create system models and simulations to support control strategy development.
  • Support integration and validation of control systems across vehicle platforms.
  • Analyse system performance and optimise control strategies for reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software, electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, testing activities and engineering reviews.

Requirements

  • Degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
  • Experience using MATLAB and Simulink for modelling and simulation.
  • Understanding of control theory and dynamic systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Desirable

  • Experience working on automotive or vehicle systems.
  • Exposure to model-based design or embedded control systems.
  • Interest or passion for automotive engineering, motorsport, or electric vehicles. xwzovoh
