Job Title: Nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Salary: £109 per day Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Pay: Weekly Start Date: ASAP or flexible for the right candidate We are currently recruiting a Nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 4 with significant and complex Special Educational Needs, within a supportive and inclusive primary school. Role Overview This role focuses on providing consistent, caring, and developmentally appropriate support for a child whose cognitive and developmental needs are at an early stage. The successful candidate will support the child’s sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, communication, and personal care needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing school experience. Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated 1:1 SEN support throughout the school day Support sensory activities, engagement, and play-based learning Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity at all times Follow guidance from the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists Build a calm, trusting relationship with the child Promote emotional regulation and wellbeingIdeal Candidate This position is ideal for graduates or aspiring professionals seeking experience before a career in: Occupational Therapy Speech and Language Therapy Educational Psychology SEN or Child DevelopmentYou should demonstrate: Experience supporting children with SEN or a strong interest in SEN support A patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach Reliability, emotional resilience, and a willingness to learnPrevious school or care experience is desirable but not essential.
