Fitter's Mate / General Operative - National Grid Substation Project Location: Creag Dhubh Substation (PA32 8XJ) Start Date: 05/05/26 End Date: 28/09/26 Hours: 50 hours per week (10-hour days, Monday start) Positions Available: 2 Contract Type: Contract (LTD / PAYE / Umbrella) Rates: LTD / Umbrella: £25.00/hr - First 37 hours £26.50/hr - After 37 hours / First 4 hours Saturday £28.89/hr - After 4 hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holidays PAYE: £18.50/hr - First 37 hours £19.61/hr - After 37 hours / First 4 hours Saturday £21.37/hr - After 4 hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holidays The Role: We are looking for Fitter's Mates / General Operatives to support installation works on a major transmission substation project. This is a hands-on role working alongside mechanical and electrical teams on site. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with mechanical and electrical installation activities Supporting cable pulling and general installation works Carrying out general labouring duties across site Working closely with Chargehands and Site Supervisors Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with site procedures Supporting team delivery to programme deadlines Requirements: SSEN Substation Authorsiation or SPEN Authorisation CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport Experience working on infrastructure / construction / energy projects Previous substation, power, oil & gas, or heavy industrial experience preferred Strong understanding of health & safety on site Desirable: Experience on high voltage substation projects (NG, SSE, SPEN etc.) Key Attributes: Strong team player Proactive and reliable attitude Good communication skills on site Willingness to support across multiple disciplines Compliance: Drug & Alcohol testing may be required Medical clearance may be required 5-year work history references Additional Info: Working for Siemens Energy on a major transmission project Weekly timesheets Immediate starts available If you are interested or know something that may be, enquire now and send all relevant materials to be considered.
