SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School Location: Littlehampton Contract: 08:30-15:30 | Monday-Friday | Term-Time Only Salary: £80 - £93 a day Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a specialist setting? We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a caring and supportive mainstream primary school. In this role, you will work closely with pupils across the school who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual EHCP targets * Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour strategies * Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning * Assist with sensory activities and structured interventions * Promote independence, confidence, and life skills * Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times * Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and structured environment We Are Looking For Someone Who: * Has experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential) * Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient * Understands the importance of consistent boundaries and positive behaviour support * Has strong teamwork and communication skills * Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing * Holds a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable) What We Offer: * A highly supportive leadership and staff team * Ongoing training in areas such as Autism, behaviour, and trauma-informed practice * Opportunities for professional development and career progression * A rewarding role where every small achievement matters If you are enthusiastic about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs and thrive in a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you
