About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and supply chain activities across the UK and Continental Europe. This role has direct impact on cost, supplier performance, and operational continuity, while leading a team and driving strategic supplier relationships across the region.

This role will manage a team of buyers and work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Global Procurement. The focus is on ensuring supply continuity, managing costs, improving supplier performance, and maintaining accurate inventory.


This is a hands-on role with a strong on-site presence, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships across the UK and Europe
  • Lead sourcing, re-sourcing, and tender activities to improve cost, service, and supply continuity
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements with suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as a player-coach by supporting, guiding, and developing a small procurement team (2 direct reports)
  • Work closely with global procurement colleagues to align sourcing strategies and share best practices
  • Execute and oversee purchase orders to support production, projects, and customer demand
  • Maintain and optimize planning parameters, including MOQ, lead times, safety stock, and reorder points
  • Partner with Sales and Operations on forecasting and demand planning
  • Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy (target 98%+)
  • Lead cycle counts, stock takes, and audit preparation activities
  • Maintain accurate procurement data, reporting, and KPI tracking
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply
  • Support cost reduction and value improvement initiatives across the supply base
  • Other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field xwzovoh
  • CIPS qualification (or working toward it) is a plus
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain leadership
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of cost savings
  • Knowledge of UK and European supplier markets
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
