SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2 (SEMH Specialist) Location: Leyland, Mainstream Primary School Contract: September Start Hours: Monday - Friday, Full-Time (Term Time Only) Pay: £14.24 - £15 per hour Are you an expert in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support? Have you worked in an Alternative Provision (AP) or a Specialist School? We are looking for a high-calibre Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to join our KS2 team from September for the academic year. The Role This is a critical role supporting a small group of Year 1 children with trauma-related SEMH needs. We need a strong, resilient practitioner who can balance the academic demands of the KS2 National Curriculum with the high level of emotional regulation these pupils require. You will be a key figure in providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where "brave learning" can take place. Requirements & Qualifications We are looking for a specialist. To be considered, you must have: Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification Specialist Experience: Experience in an Alternative Provision (AP), Specialist SEN School, or extensive SEMH experience within a primary setting Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum to support academic progress Trauma-Informed Practice: Experience supporting behaviours linked to trauma with empathy, consistency, and firm boundaries Our School Bio We are a fully inclusive mainstream primary school with high expectations of both pupils and staff.
