Mechanical Fitter – Maintenance Equipment

Logical Personnel Solutions are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Technician to join a busy workshop team based in Sheffield , working on a wide range of grounds maintenance/landscaping machinery and bespoke machinery for re-sale. This is a hands-on role involving assembly, servicing, fault finding and repair of petrol, diesel and electric/battery powered equipment. You will be working across both: * Our commercial landscaping fleet * Customer and retail machinery through our machinery distribution business Key Duties * Assembly and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) of new machinery * Servicing and maintenance of landscaping equipment * Fault finding and repairs on petrol & diesel engines * Diagnostics and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical systems * Preparing machines for dispatch and customer collection * Completing job records and service documentation * Supporting workshop organisation, cleanliness and safety standards Role Breakdown * Assembly, PDI, servicing and preparation of new machinery * Repairs, diagnostics and maintenance work * Workshop upkeep and general support * Picking & Packing of customer orders * All Ad-hoc duties to suit business requirements Requirements Essential: * Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Technician or similar role * Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills * Experience with small engines, plant, agricultural or automotive machinery * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Good attention to detail and organisation * Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: * Experience with grounds maintenance or agricultural equipment * Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems * Welding/fabrication experience * Forklift licence What We Offer * Competitive salary based on experience (£29,000 – £34,000) * Stable, long-term position within a growing company * Varied role working on a wide range of machinery * Supportive, team-focused workshop environment * Overtime opportunities available * Training and development opportunities About Us We are a well-established landscaping contractor with a large fleet of commercial machinery, alongside a growing machinery sales and distribution business supplying equipment across the UK.
