About the role

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator Location: Milton Keynes Salary: Competitive (DOE) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:15pm Role Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and proactive Logistics Coordinator to take full ownership of end-to-end international logistics operations. This role involves managing global shipments across road, sea, and air freight, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and on-time delivery across UK, European, Far East, and Middle East markets. This position requires strong expertise in international shipping, customs compliance, export documentation, and Incoterms. You will play a key role in maintaining supply chain efficiency, financial accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities * Transport, Freight & Distribution Plan, coordinate, and manage international shipments across multiple transport modes Create and validate commercial invoices, ensuring accuracy of: Commodity (HS) codes Country of Origin Customs values Incoterms Freight and insurance costs Manage end-to-end export declarations and resolve customs issues Book shipments, compare rates, and negotiate with freight forwarders Optimise cost vs. transit time across all shipments * Customs Compliance & Regulatory Control Calculate and verify duties, VAT, and associated charges Ensure accurate classification of goods to minimise risk and delays Maintain compliance with UK–EU post-Brexit regulations Act as escalation point for customs queries and audits Manage documentation including Certificates of Origin and legalisation * Dangerous Goods & Specialist Shipments Coordinate shipments of regulated goods (e.g. lithium-ion batteries) Ensure compliance with IATA, IMDG, and ADR regulations * Reverse Logistics Manage returned goods, including re-import documentation and inventory reconciliation * Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Finance, and Production Review purchase orders and freight invoices, resolving discrepancies * Performance & Continuous Improvement Track and report on logistics KPIs, including: On-time delivery Freight cost efficiency Documentation accuracy Drive cost-saving initiatives and supplier performance improvements * Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination Strong knowledge of: Export documentation and customs procedures Incoterms and international trade regulations Commodity codes and Country of Origin requirements Experience shipping to European, Far East, and Middle East markets Familiarity with ERP systems and freight forwarder platforms Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel * Qualifications Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English Relevant logistics or supply chain experience essential * Personal Attributes Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Proactive, solutions-focused, and commercially driven Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment * What’s on Offer Competitive salary Opportunity to take ownership of a critical logistics function Collaborative and fast-paced working environment
