About the role

Nurture Teacher – SEMH Provision (Ages 7–16) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurture Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to re-engage with education. The provision supports pupils aged 7–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream settings. The school offers a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment where relationships and consistency are key to success. About the Role As a Nurture Teacher, you will: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils across KS2–KS4 Build positive, trusting relationships that support pupils’ emotional regulation and engagement Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including support staff and pastoral professionals Provide a structured and predictable classroom environment that promotes safety and learning Support pupils to achieve core academic outcomes, including GCSE pathways where appropriate The Provision Offers Small class sizes (typically 8–10 pupils) with additional support staff A reduced and focused curriculum, prioritising core subjects and key skills A strong emphasis on nurture, therapeutic approaches, and relational practice A supportive and collaborative staff team committed to positive outcomes for every pupil Ongoing professional development and opportunities to grow within SEMH education A purposeful and inclusive environment where every child is valued The Ideal Candidate Will Have QTS or QTLS (essential) Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching Strong behaviour management skills rooted in understanding and consistency A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of emotional and academic needs A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and succeed Why Apply?
