Remuneration: £11,090 per annum
Location: Cardiff, with travel to Birmingham and other locations for Board meetings as required
Time Commitment: Approximately 4 days per month
Term of Appointment: 4 years

Help shape the future of water services for consumers in Wales
The Consumer Council for Water (CCW) is the independent voice for water consumers in England and Wales. We help people resolve complaints, provide free advice and support, and influence water companies, governments and regulators to deliver better outcomes for customers.
We are seeking a Wales Board Member to join our Board and provide strategic leadership, oversight and a strong Welsh perspective to our work. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to improving services, value for money and outcomes for water consumers across Wales.
What you'll do
As Wales Board Member, you will:
- Help shape the strategic direction of CCW.
- Ensure the Board fully considers Welsh legislative, regulatory and policy developments.
- Chair the Wales Committee and represent Welsh consumer interests.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across Wales.
- Represent CCW at strategic meetings and public-facing engagements.
- Help ensure CCW's work reflects Welsh Government priorities and evidence from Wales.
- Provide challenge and scrutiny on governance, performance and delivery.
Who we're looking for
We are interested in candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. You do not need to be a water industry expert, but you should have senior-level experience in the private, public or voluntary sector.
Essential qualities include:
- A passion for representing consumers and improving services.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- The ability to challenge constructively and contribute effectively in a board environment.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to inspire confidence among colleagues and stakeholders.
Desirable experience includes:
- Knowledge of, or interest in, the water sector.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience of public sector finance or accountancy.
- Welsh language skills.
