The business has built a strong reputation for equipment quality, innovation, and customer service.The RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business.The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of bespoke machinery and automation systems from concept through to manufacture, testing and installation.The Mechanical Design Engineer will design new machinery from scratch, lead concept development, prototyping and R&D, and take designs through to manufacture.The Mechanical Design Engineer must be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Vault.They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is comfortable on the workshop floor and involved with machine builds as they are designing on screen.The is roles involves design machinery, solving engineering challenges and seeing your ideas move from concept through to manufacture and final build.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign bespoke machinery from concept through to manufactureProduce 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Autodesk InventorLead R&D, prototyping and new machine developmentDesign sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated componentsEnsure designs are practical, efficient and manufacturableSupport machine build, test, installation and commissioning phasesContribute ideas to improve machine performance, build quality and efficiencyRequirementsMechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualificationsAt least 3 year’s experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environmentBackground designing bespoke machinery, conveyors or handling equipmentStrong experience using Autodesk Inventor and VaultExperience managing designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and installationExperience designing with stainless steelGood understanding of manufacturing processes and materialsExperience with sheet metal designWhat’s On Offer40,000 – 50,000 salary (depending on experience)30 days holiday (including bank holidays + Christmas shutdown)Workplace pensionStable business with low staff turnoverReal freedom to design, innovate and create new machineryDesigning bespoke machinery, variety of designsOpportunity to build and shape a mechanical design function long termLong term career progressionIf you would like to find out more, please get in touch with Adele Lewis:Mobile: 07537 163611Office: 0151 209 2050Email: adele.lewis@aspion.co.ukASPLIV
