If you are experienced in local authority children’s services, this Child & Family Worker role offers the chance to work hands-on with families to create real, lasting change. As a Child & Family Worker, you will support children aged 0–19 through targeted interventions, also recognised in similar roles such as Family Support Worker or Early Help Practitioner.
You will manage your own caseload with autonomy while being part of a supportive team focused on improving outcomes and preventing family breakdown. This Child & Family Worker position gives you the scope to work creatively and build strong relationships across services.
Package & Benefits
• £22 per hour.
• Agency contract for 12 months.
• Flexible working across evenings and weekends as required.
About the Company
This role sits within a local authority children’s service focused on early help and prevention. The team works collaboratively across services to safeguard children, improve outcomes, and support families through evidence-based interventions in both home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a diverse caseload, acting as Lead Worker to deliver outcome-focused support plans.
• Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to coordinate effective interventions.
• Deliver direct support to children and families, including home visits and group-based programmes.
• Undertake assessments and manage risk to ensure safeguarding standards are met.
About You
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field such as childcare, health or social care.
• Experience working within a local authority children’s service.
• Proven background supporting children, young people and families with complex needs.
