Ark Recruitment are currently partnering with a highly established and growing events and media business to recruit a Finance Manager to join their central finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on role within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with clear scope to progress into a more strategic leadership position as the team continues to grow.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, initially operating in a hands-on capacity, including delivering management accounts and supporting core financial processes.

Over time, as you embed yourself within the business, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the team, hire additional resource, and transition into a more oversight and leadership-focused role, driving process improvements and supporting strategic decision-making.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, gaining strong exposure and influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts
• Oversight of financial reporting across multiple business areas
• Managing and mentoring a small finance team
• Review of payment runs, VAT returns, and statutory reporting
• Supporting year-end processes, audit, and compliance
• Providing financial insight and analysis to support business decisions
• Partnering with non-finance stakeholders across sales, marketing, and operations
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements
• Monitoring costs and supporting overall financial performance

About You

This role would suit a qualified accountant looking for a broad, commercially focused role with progression.

You’ll likely bring:

• ACA / ACCA qualification (essential)
• Experience within practice (audit) or a Finance Manager role in an SME environment
• Strong technical grounding with the ability to operate in a hands-on capacity
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is essential
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement
• Advanced Excel skills (experience with accounting systems such as Sage 200 is beneficial)
• Entrepreneurial mindset
