Multi-Skilled Engineer Leighton Buzzard £52,000-£56,000 Monday-Friday 3 Shift Enhanced Pension Employee assistance program Life assurance X4 Up to £6k bonus The Role This is a hands‑on maintenance role supporting multiple production lines in a large‑scale, automated manufacturing facility. Engineers work across a mix of legacy machinery and modern equipment, providing strong technical variety. The site has recently moved away from purely reactive maintenance and now places clear emphasis on: Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) Reliability and fault reduction Compliance and engineering standards Key Responsibilities Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding Planned maintenance, breakdown response and improvement work PLC fault‑finding at I/O level Diagnosing faults across networked systems and safety circuits Supporting production teams with technical issues Assisting with Health & Safety compliance and best practice Working as part of a structured, shift‑based engineering teamEquipment & Environment You'll be working on large, industrial production machinery, including: Conveying and handling systems Automated and robotic equipment High‑temperature and process‑driven plant Packaging and finishing machinery Heavy mechanical and electrical assetsThis is a physically demanding, industrial environment - well suited to engineers who enjoy bigger kit and real‑world fault‑finding rather than clean‑room or lightweight manufacturing. Essential Experience (Must Have) Strong electrical or multi‑skilled engineering background Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering Proven experience in heavy, fast‑moving industrial manufacturing PLC fault‑finding experience at I/O level Experience working with industrial networks and safety circuits Comfortable working on older plant as well as modern machinery Strong safety awareness and practical mindset If you are interested in this position please click 'apply'.
