Food Technology Technician Location: Newham, East London Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: Immediate We are seeking a reliable and organised Food Technology Technician to support our busy and well-resourced Food Technology department in a thriving secondary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting students in developing essential life skills. Key Responsibilities: Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons Support teachers and students during practical cooking sessions Ensure kitchens and food preparation areas are clean, hygienic, and compliant with food safety regulations Monitor and manage stock, including ordering supplies and checking deliveries Maintain equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for use Support displays and events related to the department The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience in a food preparation, catering, or school environment (desirable but not essential) Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Be highly organised with strong attention to detail Have a good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards Be able to work independently and as part of a team Show enthusiasm for supporting young people in a practical learning environment We Offer: A supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunities for professional development Access to excellent facilities and resources A school community committed to high standards and student success Safeguarding: The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
