Job Description
We are recruiting for a Quality Improvement Lead to join the Non-conformance Management team based in Lincoln, supporting our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business. The role supports the business in all aspects of non-conformance management, requiring reliability, confidence, passion for quality, and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coach problem solving and root cause analysis
- Improve tools and processes
- Train staff in the use of problem‑solving tools and techniques
- Provide guidance and governance for non‑conformance management
- Work with functional leads to deliver an improved quality culture
- Support effective governance for all problem‑solving activities, ensuring non‑conformance cost (NCC) targets and KPIs are exceeded
- Collaborate with SGT teams and the central quality team to enhance non‑conformance management processes, tools, and reporting
Knowledge & Skills
This position requires a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in problem solving and non‑conformance, who is willing to take on new challenges and maintain a positive approach. Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence communicating at all levels of the business are essential.
Essential
- Confident and articulate communicator, able to prepare presentation material and persuade and motivate others
- Experience interfacing with a variety of departments, including project teams, design teams and third parties
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Team player who recognises how their position impacts and influences others
- Pro‑active and flexible, planning and working on own initiative
Desirable
- Engineering industry / manufacturing background
- Clear and accurate understanding of quality management systems
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Graduate calibre candidate (experience supersedes qualification)
- Experience with problem solving and leading investigations using formal techniques
- Experience facilitating workshops and training
- Experience with data interpretation / metrics
Desirable
- Experience proposing and implementing a variety of quality related solutions
- Experience in non‑conformance management processes
- Experience delivering structured improvement projects
- Experience with data tools (e.g. Tableau) and non‑conformance software
PPE provided by client, H&S on site and first day induction – hazards associated with site such as trips, slips and falls.
