About the role
We are working with a long established pump rental and equipment services business operating across industrial and infrastructure environments.
They are seeking a Workshop Fitter to service, repair, and maintain a fleet of diesel pumps and associated equipment at their Liverpool branch.
This role supports equipment reliability, fleet availability, and safe workshop operations.
Responsibilities
• Inspect pump rental equipment on return from hire and carry out required repairs, fault finding, and diagnostic work.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing to minimise downtime and maintain operational readiness.
• Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Identify equipment damage and recurring faults, reporting findings to the Workshop Manager.
• Proactively suggest improvements to equipment performance and workshop processes.
• Maintain accurate completion of digital job records and required administration.
• Work in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, including correct use of PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area and occasionally support mobile fitting duties when required.
Skills and Experience
• Experience working with diesel engines and or industrial pumps within a workshop or plant environment.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic capability with the ability to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Competent using diagnostic equipment and standard hand and power tools.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in a mechanical discipline, ideally automotive engineering or equivalent experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to support overtime when required.
Summary

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 including overtime plus benefits
