About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our client, who will work across defined categories with a spend ranging from approximately £500k to £30m. This role requires effective governance and a focus on achieving business objectives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the optimisation of category performance whilst ensuring compliance with procurement policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of defined procurement strategies.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and legislative requirements.
- Take ownership for achieving agreed targets, objectives, and delivering savings initiatives.
- Conduct periodic strategic category reviews to identify improvements in service quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with line managers to develop and implement category plans and budgets.
- Become the primary contact for specific spend areas, working towards subject matter expertise.
- Work cross-functionally with business stakeholders to align procurement approaches with organisational needs.
- Track market trends and commodity data to mitigate risks and establish robust sourcing strategies.
- Cultivate strong supplier relationships to maximise added value and performance outcomes.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects to support business goals.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks to comply with departmental and business requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Effective budgeting and forecasting in line with company objectives, including EBITDA impact and working capital considerations.
- Improvement in service quality and delivery of central surcharge targets.
- Contribution to cash flow management.
- Development and execution of risk mitigation plans tailored to category dynamics.
