Mechanical Project Manager – Building Services
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-growing mechanical and electrical building services contractor operating across the North East. With a strong pipeline of commercial and refurbishment projects, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our Newcastle team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering high-quality mechanical installations across commercial office, education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
You will be the key interface between clients, design teams, site teams, and subcontractors, driving performance and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical projects from inception to completion
* Oversee programme, cost control, and commercial performance
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal site teams
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and RAMS
* Attend and lead client and site progress meetings
* Manage procurement of plant, materials, and labour resources
* Monitor installation quality through to commissioning and handover
* Resolve technical and operational issues on site
* Maintain strong client relationships and ensure repeat business opportunities
About You
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services
* Strong background in HVAC, pipework, or commercial mechanical installations
* Excellent understanding of construction delivery processes
* Strong commercial awareness with ability to manage budgets and variations
* Confident managing multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
* SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS (Manager level preferred)
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
