Shift and schedule:
Shift pattern:
160 hours per month (average 40 hours per week)
Rota basis: 2 days on + sleep-in, followed by 4 days off
Priority Recruitment are excited to present this excellent Deputy Manager opportunity in Wiltshire.
This is a key leadership role supporting children and young people within a residential care setting, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and operational excellence. You will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager, leading the team, and helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
We are looking for a confident and experienced individual who can lead by example, inspire a team, and contribute to the smooth running of the home. This role is ideal for someone ready to step into senior leadership and progress within residential childcare.
Salary & Benefits:

Company and Role:
  • Supporting children and young people in a residential care setting
  • Leading and developing a team of support staff
  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
  • Ensuring compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the management of the home and deputising in the Managers absence
  • Leading shifts and providing guidance and direction to staff
  • Supervising staff performance and supporting development
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
  • Supporting care planning, reviews, and outcomes for young people
  • Managing health & safety processes and risk assessments within the home
  • Supporting audits, inspections (Ofsted), and quality assurance processes
  • Liaising with external professionals including local authorities, schools, and health services
  • Supporting budget awareness and resource management within the home
  • Leading and supporting staff induction, training, and ongoing development
Household responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring the home environment is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained

  • Promoting a positive and homely environment for young people
Successful Candidate:
  • Previous experience in childrens residential care (essential)
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Childrens Homes Regulations
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
  • Confident decision-maker with a calm and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
