About the role
Simply Education are currently supporting one of our clients with their brand new Secondary SEND School in the surrey area (RH1), for pupils aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism. They are looking to appoint a Qualified Science Teacher to join their growing team this year.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the school at the start of their journey - you will be based at the main school in surrey with the possible requirement to work at their satellite site when required.

Key Duties:
Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
Collaboratively work with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
Set, monitor, review and report on the progress and work and work of the students to parents, team members, senior staff and examination and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as required through school policies and procedures.
Develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.
Contribute to the review of statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
Work in a non-confrontational way to ensure individual needs are met.
Appropriately manage challenging behaviours within the school policy and procedures.Requirement:
PGCE / QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Ability to teach science up to and including GCSE level
Knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND
Curriculum development and implementation for pupils with SEND
