The Role:
1to1 Group are working in partnership with a homeless charity that supports adults and young people. We are helping to recruit Support Workers to support the individuals staying within the hostels.
Responsibilities:
Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness, including advice on housing, employment, and welfare benefits.
Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and self-care, to promote independence.
Provide crisis intervention and safeguarding
Support clients with budgeting, managing finances, and addressing debt or benefit issues.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
Conduct regular case reviews with the clients to ensure they are invested and working on gaining their independence.
Facilitate access to education, training, and employment opportunities for long-term stability.
Requirements:
Experience working with vulnerable individuals
Understanding of safeguarding
Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service is desirable
Driving license would be desirable
Knowledge of housing and welfare legislation
Crisis management
Problem-solving skills
