Location: Medway, Kent
Salary: £39,000 – £43,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Retention Bonus: £2,000
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our specialist 0–18 Disability Service in Medway. This role is ideal for a practitioner who is committed to improving the lives of children and young people through a strengths-based, personalised approach.
You will work within an integrated team to support service users in achieving greater independence and safety within their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities

Assessment: Conduct high-quality Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people (ages 0–18) with varying disabilities.
*
Clinical Reasoning: Use expert clinical reasoning to identify bespoke interventions and solutions tailored to the individual’s needs.
*
Equipment & Enablement: Prescribe and implement a range of specialist equipment and enablement techniques to promote autonomy.
*
Adaptations: Recommend and oversee minor and major home adaptations, navigating resources such as Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) to ensure safe and accessible environments.
*
Collaboration: Work closely with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Requirements
*
Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
*
Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
*
Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people, ideally within a disability or social care setting.
*
Knowledge: Strong understanding of current legislation regarding disability, equipment provision, and major adaptations (DFG process).
*
Skills: Excellent communication, report writing, and the ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
